Family And Medical Leave Act - October 28th, 2005
On October 28, 2005, several attorneys from Ice Miller's Labor and Employment Section will be conducting a full-day seminar on the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The program, which is sponsored by Lorman Education Services, will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Wyndham Indianapolis, 251 East Pennsylvania Parkway, Indianapolis.
In general, the FMLA applies to all public employers and to private employers with 50 or more employees. It requires covered employers to provide eligible employees with up to 12 weeks of job-protected leave within a 12-month time period for certain family and medical reasons. This seminar will provide an overview of the various requirements of the FMLA and help you avoid the traps that could lead to both employer and individual liability.
