Ice Miller LLP Attorney Sherry Fabina-Abney Named Among Outstanding Hospital Attorneys

Indianapolis, August 14, 2008 – Sherry Fabina-Abney, a partner at Ice Miller LLP, has been named a 2008 Outstanding Hospital Lawyer by Nightingale's Healthcare News, a newsletter for healthcare executives and professionals serving the healthcare industry. Fabina-Abney is among twelve attorneys from across the country, and the only attorney from Indiana, who were named to the annual list in their July/August 2008 issue.

Nightingale recognized Fabina-Abney for providing legal counsel to hospitals and their medical staff leaders in addressing quality, behavioral and employment concerns related to physicians and other credentialed practitioners. She has defended hospitals in federal court challenges brought by physicians who have been summarily suspended or are subject to corrective action.

Fabina-Abney counsels healthcare entities and professionals on a variety of legal issues involving the laws affecting the relationship between hospitals and their professionals, medical staff bylaws, licensing, and accreditation.
