Full Biography: Mark I. Shublak

Mark I. Shublak, a partner and public policy professional in Ice Miller's Public Affairs Group, has a multi-dimensional government relations practice that combines public policy advocacy with traditional legal skills. He represents clients in a wide range of matters before legislative and executive bodies at all levels of government.

Mr. Shublak's legislative practice spans across all industry sectors, including agriculture, appropriations, commerce, energy, environmental, taxes, technology, transportation, and heavily regulated industries. His administrative and regulatory law practice focuses on administrative rules, compliance, enforcement matters, government contracts, licensing matters, and regulatory filings.

Mr. Shublak is dedicated to the ethical conduct of government relations. He is experienced in defending and maintaining the reputations of corporations, trade associations, and public sector clients in relation to highly sensitive issues where the impact of politics, the media, and the law could give rise to high-profile exposure.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Shublak worked as a government relations consultant in another law firm setting. Earlier in his career, he served as an aide to the President Pro Tem of the Indiana Senate, to several state executive officeholders, and to election campaigns.

Mr. Shublak has served as President of the Board for the Indianapolis Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society and the Governmental Affairs Society of Indiana. He currently serves on the boards of the Indiana State Museum Foundation, the Indianapolis City Market, and the Bowen Center for Public Affairs. During election cycles, he serves as a political analyst for Indianapolis' NBC affiliate, WTHR Channel 13. Shublak has been recognized by Indiana Super Lawyers as a "Rising Star."

Mr. Shublak earned his juris doctorate from Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Indiana and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
