Natural Resources (Mining)

Ice Miller represents municipalities and businesses in environmental and natural resource permitting. We assist our clients with transfers of property and operations when there are questions of contamination or when such transfers are regulated by environment laws. Our environmental law practice also provides advice on regulatory compliance and represents client positions when laws and rules are enacted.

We have substantial experience in representing companies engaged in mining activities, including real estate, general corporate, business transactions and employee matters. We are also called on to interpret the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act, and similar laws, for coal companies and others engaged in the extraction of mineral resources.
